meatloaf

This wonderfully moist meatloaf,is on our dinner table at least 3 times a month!It is easy to prepare and is a perfect comfort meal when served with mashed potatoes and green peas.I usually double the ketchup topping because my family wolfs it!I saute’ the onions and then add them to the meat mixture.This recipe makes 2 meatloafs.  Mix all ingredients and put into 2 meatloaf pans or form into a football shape and put on pan with sides.bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes…Add the ketchup mixture and bake for another 25 minutes… let it rest a bit before slicing..

 

  • 4 1/2 pounds hamburger meat
  • 2 8 ounce pkgs grated sharp cheddar cheese[save a little for the top]
  • 1 cup oatmeal or crushed ritz crackers
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup chopped onions
  • 1/4 cup half n half
  • 1tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

TOPPING

  • 1CUP KETCHUP
  • 1/4 CUP BROWN SUGAR
  • 2 Tablespoons yellow mustard
